About Us
First Baptist Church of Branford is a welcoming Southern Baptist church committed to sharing the hope of Jesus Christ. We gather for worship, prayer, and fellowship, blending traditional hymns with modern praise music. Our goal is to faithfully teach God’s Word and serve our local community with love and truth.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to be a Christ-centered church where faith is lived, families are strengthened, and the Word of God transforms lives.
WHAT WE DO
As a body of believers who have individually trusted Jesus Christ as our Savior, our goal is to be a clear light in a dark world. We manifest the reality of a living Lord in Jesus Christ who changes us daily by his work in our lives.
WHO WE ARE
At First Baptist Church of Branford, we seek to cultivate a community where people gather to worship the Lord with joy, grow through the teaching of His living Word, and walk together in genuine fellowship.
We are committed to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, faithfully practicing baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and equipping believers to live out their faith daily.
As we look ahead, our desire is to be a light in our community—sharing the hope of Christ, making disciples, and preparing hearts for His return.
Meet the Pastor
Tony Alexander

Tony Alexander serves as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Branford with a deep commitment to faithfully preaching and teaching the Word of God. Before entering full-time ministry, he worked climbing phone towers for Southern Bell and later as a semi-truck driver—experiences that shaped his strong work ethic and practical approach to life and ministry.
He earned a Bible degree from Tennessee Temple and has served in pastoral ministry for over 40 years, faithfully shepherding churches in both Detroit and Gladwin, Michigan.
Pastor Tony has been married to his wife, Juanita, for over 60 years. Together, they have been a testimony of God’s faithfulness in both life and ministry.
He has a deep love for people and a passion for helping others grow in their relationship with Christ. Outside of ministry, he enjoys surfing, boating, riding his Harley Davidson, building and fixing things, and spending time with his family.
